Recommendations | VINS Serbian Prune Brandy

Recommendations

Recommendations for serving, tasting and pairing VINS premium prune brandy. Carefully distilled and aged for more than 18 months in oak, it brings depth, aroma and a refined finish to moments after a meal.

If Serbian plum brandy is liquid poetry – which it truly is – then VINS brandy is pure haiku. Canonically crafted, profound in its essence, complex and different. Lovers of plum brandy will divide at the VINS watershed into two paths: one of devotees, and the other of admirers. That is VINS, and there is simply no third option… The best Serbian haiku brandy!

The aromatic intensity on the nose is very pleasantly expressed: roasted hazelnut, marzipan, tobacco, a hint of leather, almonds, dried fig, candied plum – with alcohol that is never intrusive. Viscosity is medium. The aromatics on the palate confirm those on the nose, with plum taking center stage, filling a medium+ body, structured and creamy. The aftertaste is medium++ in excellent balance with body and acidity. The most striking impression is the layered, complex body this distillate has. Excellent as a digestif!

Characterized by harmonious plum aromas and a long finish, with alcohol content reaching above 40%. Notes of dried plums, orange peel, acacia, walnuts, almonds, and hazelnuts. A pleasant spiciness combined with vanilla, caramel, and coconut from oak aging. Incredible development in the glass – more intense and rounded over time. Rich and well-balanced on the palate, with a slight sweetness caused by oak extraction. Intense nutty flavors with pronounced tones of dried plums and tropical fruit. Mineral and fruity finish.

On the first nose aggressive, on the palate soft, but in the aftertaste delicious – like tasting your grandmother’s plum brandy on Christmas Eve.

While enjoying the charms of VINS brandy, I taste dried plums carefully selected to create this exceptional drink. This beautiful and authentic brandy not only captivates with its flavor but also carries the story of love, tradition, and dedication of the wonderful family at the heart of this spirit.

As a restaurateur and plum brandy enthusiast, VINS dried plum brandy is a product very dear to me. I run a venue that offers more than 30 different plum brandies, so many of our guests are true rakija lovers and fanatics. VINS is always a welcome surprise for them, something new they haven’t tried before. With experienced brandy drinkers, we often dive into discussions about technology and production – as it is not maceration (not a liqueur), but fermentation of dried plums. For those just discovering the world of rakija, the entire VINS story is a perfect introduction, since the whole family is involved in its creation. Combined with the tasting of this brandy, which has originality and a distinctive aftertaste, it makes for a truly cherished bottle on the shelf.

Culinary Art & VINS

VINS is made for refined moments at the table.

This Serbian prune brandy works especially well at the end of a meal, when its dried plum depth, oak notes and smooth finish can open slowly. It pairs naturally with desserts, aged cheeses, prosciutto, meze, fruit and carefully composed fine dining plates, creating a calm balance between sweetness, spice and warmth.

Cigar & VINS

VINS premium prune brandy paired with a cigar

A cigar pairing should respect the aromatic profile of VINS rather than cover it. Choose a cigar that gives structure, earthiness and quiet complexity, while leaving room for the dried plum, oak and warm finish of this premium Serbian brandy.
A few suggestions:

1. Medium-bodied cigar
2. Connecticut wrapper
3. Belicoso or Torpedo shape
4. Dominican or Nicaraguan origin
5. Cigar with earthy notes
